How to learn Taiwanese?

Taiwanese Hokkien is commonly referred to as Taiwanese. This is a variation of the Minnan-Chinese language. Hokkien is spoken by 70% of Taiwanese people on a daily basis. The rest use Mandarin Chinese (Mandarin).

Taiwanese can be considered the local language of China. It can also be considered an independent language. Because the language has distinct syllables, it is not the same as Mandarin Chinese.
